About us
Restaurant “PORTO”, in the heart of famous Montenegro village Njegusi, brings back memories of our first journeys aboard Kotor's Jugoocenija mercantile ships — exploring distant ports and cities across Europe, South and North America, all the way to the land of the rising sun, Japan. Niko's first voyage took him from Hamburg to the vibrant city of football and samba – Rio de Janeiro. Marko's journey began in Antwerp, passed through the Suez Canal, with a stop in Djibouti, Africa, and continued onward to the distant lands of China. This house was built in 1984 by local resident Krsto Radonjic, the same year the first traditional restaurant “Korintik” was opened here. In 2004, the property became part of the Popovic family, who incorporated it into their company “Turo” — the largest producer of Njegusi-style prosciutto and cheese in Montenegro, operating since 1998. In 2018, our dear friend and bohemian soul, Zeljko Jotic Jota, transformed the former kafana into a Rock ’n’ Roll pub. Once a simple tavern, today PORTO is a cozy mini-motel with ten rooms and a charming pub. We proudly serve traditional food made in our own facilities, including our famous prosciutto and cheese. Enjoy the Rock ’n’ Roll vibes, fresh mountain air, and a rich spread of traditional Njegusi-style delicacies!Services
